Natural England challenged on coastal policies

Last week, members of the Kent Climate Change Forum met with Natural England, at their offices in Ashford. There was a robust debate with particularly strong views from DOC and the NFU.

One of the main issues is if land is to be lost to see, who and how determines winners and losers between homeowners, wildlife, farmers and general taxpayers. Currently it seems that the Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) process is not really up to the job.
